Bees check this morning.\u00a0 Colony 1 is queenright.\u00a0 Colonies 2 and 3 were not queenright because I had improperly handled the indirect release.\u00a0 The queens were in the cage still, being tended to by the colony so I direct released both of them.\u00a0 At the next hive inspection, I imagine they will be queenright, too.\u00a0 Pollen patties were not depleted, nor even used for that matter.\u00a0 There was still honey in the frames from last year’s hives, so all looks good right now.\u00a0\u00a0 The bees were calm.<\/p>\n
Had a last hurrah with the Titian show, docent colleagues who’d toured it showed up.\u00a0 We discussed how we’d handled certain paintings, noticed things we hadn’t seen before, fun to rehash.\u00a0 Afterward we went over to Rinata’s and had their $20 Sunday evening meal.\u00a0 Tasty.<\/p>\n
After that, tai chi, just down Hennepin five blocks.\u00a0 Was I not ready for what happened tonight.\u00a0 I positioned myself on the end of the line and, being alone, totally lost my place, forgot moves I knew well.\u00a0 I’d practiced and practiced this week.<\/p>\n
Dropping the moves out of my consciousness created a sense of panic, one I know well.\u00a0 My brain tells me:\u00a0 leave, leave, leave.\u00a0 It’s a sort of red klaxon at work.\u00a0 A tight chest.\u00a0 I don’t like to fail.\u00a0 At anything.\u00a0 And this is for stress relief?\u00a0 Well, not for me.\u00a0 Not tonight.\u00a0 I calmed myself down, changed positions and tried to keep my head in the class.\u00a0 It was hard.<\/p>\n
Afterward I talked with teacher.\u00a0 She reassured me.\u00a0 Told me chaos often proceeds a break through.\u00a0 Told me that she was totally confused in her first ten weeks.\u00a0 That she’d get me confident.\u00a0 I felt flushed and embarrassed when she told me I had to concentrate on keeping my hips together.\u00a0 I though I had been.\u00a0 Again, I don’t like to be doing something poorly.\u00a0 There is of course motivation here, yes, but there’s also fear and avoidance.<\/p>\n
On the drive back I just drove, listening to Wolf Hall, a very good novel about Henry the VIII, Cardinal Wolsey and Thomas Cromwell.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
