{"id":10263,"date":"2011-05-05T07:52:49","date_gmt":"2011-05-05T13:52:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ancientrails.com\/?p=10263"},"modified":"2016-05-02T15:37:00","modified_gmt":"2016-05-02T21:37:00","slug":"nut-job-analysis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ancientrails.com\/?p=10263","title":{"rendered":"Nut Job Analysis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Beltane\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Waxing Last Frost Moon<\/p>\n<p>The Arab Spring.\u00a0 A nice metaphor.\u00a0 I remember the Prague Spring.\u00a0 I have faith in people&#8217;s movements when they come out of the genuine frustrations and pains of everyday living.\u00a0 Ideology bends movements, often turns them into pretzels, twisted things that reflect the head rather than the heart, the so-called radical Islamists, the KKK, the Communist Party, the Kuomintang.\u00a0 When people begin to move and rustle together, when they become willing to take charge of their own destiny rather than allow others to dictate it, then they become powerful, often unstoppable.\u00a0 People&#8217;s movements topple dictators.\u00a0 Egypt.\u00a0 Tunisia.\u00a0 Yemen.\u00a0 Probably Libya.\u00a0 Maybe Syria.\u00a0 Possibly Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>Even the Tea Party here has some of the ingredients of a people&#8217;s movement.\u00a0 Only some because the underlying motive force is a crackpot brand of political thought made famous by the Impeach Earl Warren and U.S. out of the United Nations billboard folks, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jbs.org\/index.php\">John Birch Society<\/a>.\u00a0 I say crackpot in the unkindest way possible.\u00a0 Robert Welch, a guy who made his fortune making candy, including the caramel on a stick, Papa Sucker, founded the John Birch Society in 1958.\u00a0 He believed Dwight D. Eisenhower was a communist.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Robert_W._Welch,_Jr.\">In the 1960s<\/a>, Welch began to believe that even the Communists were not the top level of his perceived conspiracy and began saying that Communism was just a front for a Master Conspiracy, which had roots in the Illuminati; the essay &#8220;The Truth in Time&#8221; is an example<span class=\"external autonumber\">[1]<\/span>.
