The city has a population of 356,876 according to <a title=\"Ha'il Province\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ha%27il_Province\">Ha&#8217;il Province<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ha&#8217;il is largely agricultural, with significant <a title=\"Cereal\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cereal\">grain<\/a>, <a title=\"Date Palm\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Date_Palm\">date<\/a>, and <a title=\"Fruit\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fruit\">fruit<\/a> production. A large percentage of the kingdom&#8217;s wheat production comes from Ha&#8217;il Province, where the area to the northeast, 60\u00a0km to 100\u00a0km away, consists of <a title=\"Irrigation\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Irrigation\">irrigated<\/a> <a title=\"Garden\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Garden\">gardens<\/a>. Traditionally Ha&#8217;il derived its wealth from being on the <a title=\"Camel train\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Camel_train\">camel caravan<\/a> route of the <a title=\"Hajj\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hajj\">Hajj<\/a>.
