Picked cherries today. \u00a0Got about a dozen. \u00a0Not a big cherry year and many of the ones on the tree had some sort of fungus.<\/p>\n
Moved our new, all steel firepit ring back to the firepit Mark dug out last year. \u00a0Need to bolt it up and we’re read for a fire. \u00a0Just as the temps head back to the 90’s. \u00a0Maybe not the best time to try it out.<\/p>\n
To move the firepit Kate and I had to\u00a0maneuver a fixed tire back on the wagon. \u00a0We have a heavy duty lawn tractor, a Simplicity called the Landlord. \u00a0Sort of an icky name for this renter organizer, but, hey. \u00a0It does the job. \u00a0Probably should paint over the damned thing. \u00a0Put an image of Artemis over it.<\/p>\n
Moved to Book VIII of the Metamorphosis; this time the story of Philemon and Baucis. \u00a0Once again inspired to choose this passage by art. \u00a0The first history painting of Rembrandt’s bought by a US art collector is an illustration of this story. \u00a0Has made me begin to think about a book\/research project digging up all the paintings and sculpture telling Ovid’s stories. \u00a0If it hasn’t been done, it would be fun.<\/p>\n
