Cool weather.\u00a0 Presents an interesting problem.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Honey has to have less than 18% water content to qualify as honey.\u00a0 To measure this a refractometer is necessary.\u00a0 I bought one.\u00a0 It needs calibration; but, there\u2019s a hitch today, the temperature.\u00a0 The temperature has to be 68 degrees.\u00a0 Won\u2019t hit that until 11:00 am according to my weather websites.\u00a0 I want to check the honey at 10.\u00a0 On August 14th\u00a0this is an issue?<\/p>\n
I\u2019m picking plums this morning, then I\u2019ll do the refractometer test of the honey, after which I will, again, remove all six honey supers, remove the hopguard strips I placed last week and replace them with new ones.\u00a0 My plan is better this week.\u00a0 I have a desire to avoid the hassle of last week\u2019s battle with an angry superorganism.\u00a0 Aversive conditioning really does work.<\/p>\n
