Expensive mistakes. \u00a0My phone, adrift somewhere in Colorado, not answering calls has moved beyond my reach. \u00a0Of course, Verizon was happy to replace it, demanding only a blood price and a new 2 year contract. \u00a0This phone contract business is great if you’re the phone company, for everyone else (most of us) not so much.<\/p>\n
They did have a four propeller, camera equipped drone though, controllable from the phone. Would be fun. \u00a0But, I think for me, it would be a like a Christmas present of days gone by. \u00a0Used a lot for a while, then not at all. \u00a0Shaun Chenoweth, our Verizon salesperson, said realtors use them to show roofs and farmers use them to manage their land. \u00a0Both uses make sense to me. \u00a0Could help us find lost dogs but we have homebound canines at this point. \u00a0Still.<\/p>\n
A smart phone is a great companion, especially once you have some reading material on it. That’s a generational attitude, I know. \u00a0All others have music. \u00a0Check e-mail. \u00a0Send texts. Take photographs. \u00a0Keep up with my Instapaper reading. \u00a0Keep notes. \u00a0Look up saved information in my Evernote account. \u00a0Even read a book if I want to. \u00a0Find the weather now and the forecasts. \u00a0Get warned about heavy weather. \u00a0A lot of work for one handheld gadget. \u00a0But wait. \u00a0There’s more. \u00a0You know, Internet, voice activated search, the flashlight, that chess platform, the calendar. \u00a0And on and on.<\/p>\n
