Working on my query letter. \u00a0This is a strange animal consisting of a one sentence hook, a paragraph long synopsis (of a 103,000 word novel) and a short ending paragraph with writing credits and availability of a completed manuscript.<\/p>\n
I’ve got the longer synopsis done (1,500 words) and I’ve clipped the first five pages. \u00a0Both of these go at the bottom of the e-mail query.<\/p>\n
My body puts up resistance to this work. \u00a0It wants to read something, jump to translating Latin, sleep. \u00a0This resistance combines a visceral fear and my usual anti-hoop jumping. \u00a0Still, I pushed myself through it and now have a reasonably good long synopsis and a first-draft query letter. \u00a0One more pass or so should do it.<\/p>\n
