{"id":296,"date":"2008-02-04T09:40:28","date_gmt":"2008-02-04T15:40:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ancientrails.com\/?p=296"},"modified":"2008-02-04T09:40:28","modified_gmt":"2008-02-04T15:40:28","slug":"castrate-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ancientrails.com\/?p=296","title":{"rendered":"Castrate Him!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>26\u00a0 87%\u00a0 28%\u00a0 2mph NE bar 29.88 steady\u00a0 windchill23 Imbolc<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Waning Crescent of the Winter Moon<\/p>\n<p>A good senate race has run under the radar of the Clinton\/Edwards\/Obama vs. Romney\/McCaine\/Giuliani primaries.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a shame, too, since\u00a0the Democrats have a real opportunity to win back a Senate seat.\u00a0 I was skeptical of Al Franken, but it seems he&#8217;s run hard, straight and with serious intent.\u00a0 I&#8217;m gonna support him on Tuesday, along with Barrack Obama.\u00a0 I read a convincing article in the Nation that portrayed Obama as the only candidate with true left credentials.\u00a0\u00a0Progressive is a weasel word, not least because Bull Moose Teddy Roosevelt used it of himself and his movement.<\/p>\n<p>If you enjoy the numbers and drama of politics, this has been a great year.\u00a0 Lots of poll data, lots of actual votes and plenty of campaign back and forth without, so far at least, too much mudslinging.\u00a0 Even a pinch of political junkie in your bloodstream would get you into the fray.<\/p>\n<p>Wish for snow and voil\u00e1, it snows.\u00a0 Six inches today they say.\u00a0 Paul Douglas called this one.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The perfect week shapes up for me:\u00a0 up north for four days in a time of snow,\u00a0home for a night and then off to the Sandwich Islands.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Started reading last night in the annals of the Grand Historian, Sima Qin.\u00a0 He&#8217;s a fascinating character.
