I have a first draft of Roots of Liberalism.\u00a0 I’m not happy with it.\u00a0 All writers\u00a0 struggle with the gap between the elegance and concision a work has as it takes form in the mind and the clumsy apparatus, strung together with baling wire and bubble gum that hits the page.\u00a0 Sometimes the gap is further than I imagined it would be, this is one of those times.<\/p>\n
