I wrote a vitriolic piece on sulfide mining that the better angels of my nature said to set side for a bit and let it cool off.\u00a0 Let me just say this:\u00a0 if there is an issue in our time comparable to the Boundary Waters struggle of the mid-70’s, this is it.\u00a0 While climate change is, admittedly, the uber issue of our time, in terms of local environmental politics, the question of sulfide mining and its nasty\u00a0 side affects looms over all else.\u00a0 I’m opposed to it, at least until they can demonstrate a safe\u00a0 technique.<\/p>\n
