It was a long time ago.
\nI have almost forgotten my dream.
\nBut it was there then,
\nIn front of me,
\nBright like a sun,\u2014
\nMy dream.<\/p>\n

And then the wall rose,
\nRose slowly,
\nSlowly,
\nBetween me and my dream.
\nRose slowly, slowly,
\nDimming,
\nHiding,
\nThe light of my dream.
\nRose until it touched the sky,\u2014
\nThe wall.<\/p>\n

Shadow.
\nI am black.<\/p>\n

I lie down in the shadow.
\nNo longer the light of my dream before me,
\nAbove me.
\nOnly the thick wall.
\nOnly the shadow.<\/p>\n

My hands!
\nMy dark hands!
\nBreak through the wall!
\nFind my dream!
\nHelp me to shatter this darkness,
\nTo smash this night,
\nTo break this shadow
\nInto a thousand lights of sun,
\nInto a thousand whirling dreams
