{"id":593,"date":"2008-05-13T21:58:46","date_gmt":"2008-05-14T03:58:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ancientrails.com\/?p=593"},"modified":"2008-05-13T21:58:46","modified_gmt":"2008-05-14T03:58:46","slug":"have-you-ever-had-culloden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ancientrails.com\/?p=593","title":{"rendered":"Have You Ever Had Culloden?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>60\u00a0 bar steady\u00a0 29.68\u00a0 1mph S dewpoint 45 Beltane\u00a0 overcast<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 First Quarter of the Hare Moon<\/p>\n<p>After I read several articles about Obama&#8217;s running mate choice, I came away convinced that Bill Richardson won&#8217;t be his choice.\u00a0 The most interesting article I read suggested Wes Clark or Bill Bradley.\u00a0 The prevailing opinion seems to be that he needs gravitas on foreign affairs in a Vice President.\u00a0 This disturbs me since the most recent example of a naif at foreign affairs coupled with a strong VP is George Bush and Dick Cheney.\u00a0 Do we really want a\u00a0shadow presidency when it comes to conduct of foreign policy?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The argument for a strong woman makes sense to me, but the candidates didn&#8217;t.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know.\u00a0 If I had to choose among the folks bandied about so far, I&#8217;d go with Bradley, then back to Richardson.<\/p>\n<p>Another planting day here on the homestead.\u00a0 And a good one, it appears.\u00a0 Good planting, transplanting days are overcast, low wind and cool.\u00a0 They put minimum stress on plants being transplanted and conserve moisture.<\/p>\n<p>In a dream last night I traveled to Wales.\u00a0 It was an island in this version, with an interior\u00a0river that\u00a0followed the\u00a0coast line.\u00a0 You could rent boats and just let them float along.\u00a0 I went through several small towns and villages.\u00a0\u00a0They were mixtures of theme park and historical village, like Williamsburg.\u00a0 At one point I stopped in a village and spent the night in a hotel.
