At the end a woman told me she’d seen a Bhutan exhibit in Honolulu.\u00a0 “The objects came with five Buddhist monks.\u00a0 They came to bless the statues with water each morning.\u00a0 Since in Buhtan, they received this sprinkling directly, but\u00a0were in cases like this,”\u00a0 she indicated the Nara Buddha at the beginning of the show, “they had, oh, I don’t know, a tupperware container,”\u00a0 she spread her hands out and formed a large sloppy rectangle, “It had water.\u00a0 Then they had a mirror.\u00a0 They got the objects reflection in the mirror and sprinkled that.”<\/p>\n
