When I left Jon and Jen’s last night, Barb was still at the ER at University Hospital.\u00a0 I’m headed over there now to help with housecleaning, so I’ll find out what\u00a0 happened.<\/p>\n
There’s a line now at the computers.\u00a0 That’s what comes with socialism, when everything’s free.\u00a0 Or, at least when the cost is hidden.\u00a0 Gal just stood, drinking coffee, looking at me.\u00a0 Passive aggressive.<\/p>\n
Read the newspaper this morning about the\u00a0economy.\u00a0 Bad news.\u00a0 Which is\u00a0 good news for Democrats.\u00a0\u00a0 Also, an interesting article by somebody named Jonathan Goldberg.\u00a0 He’s an editor of the National Review and author of a book, Liberal Fascism.\u00a0<\/p>\n
His perspective is that conservativism will rise again.\u00a0 He said over and over that Republican does not equal conservatism.\u00a0 The current administration spent like “a pimp with a\u00a0week to live.”\u00a0 A colorful metaphor.\u00a0 I suspect the gut of his argument is correct, however, and that is that conservatism is a part of the American ethos and will only be challenged by a liberal ascendancy, not obliterated.\u00a0<\/p>\n
We can only\u00a0 hope that first, the ascendancy will happen, and that it will produce affects that have a long shelf life, like Social Security and Medicare.\u00a0 Which do need to get fixed.\u00a0 Amen.<\/p>\n
