In no particular order, though there must be one, at some point, here a few notes I’ve taken from reading, living.<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0 Death happens.\u00a0 To all of us.\u00a0 Whether we fear it or welcome it.<\/p>\n
therefore, it’s best to befriend death, to live with it as a counselor on your left shoulder, keeping you honest, authentic, true.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0 Love beats everything else that comes before death.<\/p>\n
therefore, it’s best to live a life loving as many and as much\u00a0 you can.<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0 Certain things get in the way of love:<\/p>\n
attachment to money, to particular things<\/p>\n
a need for power<\/p>\n
an unwillingness to be vulnerable<\/p>\n
untrustworthy behavior<\/p>\n
therefore,<\/p>\n
it’s best to clean up your act.<\/p>\n
4. Passion is the next best thing after love.<\/p>\n
passion requires clarity about self<\/p>\n
clarity about self requires self-knowledge<\/p>\n
self-knowledge undergirds both passion and love and allows an unblinking relationship with death<\/p>\n
5.\u00a0 Therefore,<\/p>\n
It’s best to get your butt to the Temple of Apollo,<\/p>\n
Cross under the lintel with gnothi seauton written above it<\/p>\n
And get to know who you are.\u00a0 No, who you really are.<\/p>\n
6.\u00a0 When you know who you are, your passions become obvious.<\/p>\n
7.\u00a0 With passion your life before death has value, vigor, oomph.<\/p>\n
8.\u00a0 With passion love retains its edge, its ability to cut through any thing left and carve your true you out of it<\/p>\n
