Some days.\u00a0 You know.\u00a0 This was one.\u00a0 I got the printer cable.\u00a0 Spent another 2+ hours fiddling with the printer.\u00a0 Nothing positive.\u00a0 Still.\u00a0 I know it’s a breed fault, but I do prefer to be competent.\u00a0 At everything I do.\u00a0 Every time.\u00a0 Not perfectionism.\u00a0 It’s competencism.\u00a0 Things don’t have to be perfect, but they have to display my general competence, or else.\u00a0 Well.\u00a0 You may have been down that hole, too.\u00a0 It can get deep.<\/p>\n
Then, I went out to check on the bees.\u00a0 I suppose I might have missed something, I did last spring, but I don’t think so.\u00a0 All three dead.\u00a0 Geez.\u00a0 I didn’t stop to diagnose the cause.\u00a0 I just closed the hive boxes up and walked back inside.<\/p>\n
I tried yet one more time on the printer.\u00a0 Well, actually, several more times, flailing at different solutions suggested by this website and that.\u00a0 Even went into DOS, foreign territory for me.\u00a0 I got in and got out of DOS unscathed, but no closer to a solution.<\/p>\n
If I had any hair left, I’d be pulling it out right about now.\u00a0 Guess I’m gonna have to call Steve again.\u00a0 See if he say some words over the machines, toss some holy byte water at them.\u00a0 I don’t know.\u00a0 An exorcism?<\/p>\n
The good thing is.\u00a0 Worked out.\u00a0 Got my endorphins buzzing around the old synapses.\u00a0 Sweat.<\/p>\n
Now.\u00a0 I can be philosophical.\u00a0 Never to fail is never to do.\u00a0 Never to do is to be dead.\u00a0 I want to be alive.\u00a0 I want to try things that challenge me.\u00a0 Guess failure is part of that.\u00a0 Gotta be.\u00a0 Otherwise no forward progress.\u00a0 So, I’ve got two challenges ahead:\u00a0 get the packages installed in early April.\u00a0 Do the due diligence before hand to find out what killed the bees.\u00a0 Fix what I can fix.\u00a0 Get the printer installed.\u00a0 One damn way or another.<\/p>\n
