{"id":9402,"date":"2011-02-13T10:11:23","date_gmt":"2011-02-13T16:11:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ancientrails.com\/?p=9402"},"modified":"2016-05-14T16:20:30","modified_gmt":"2016-05-14T22:20:30","slug":"carpe-this-diem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ancientrails.com\/?p=9402","title":{"rendered":"Carpe this Diem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Imbolc\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Waxing Bridgit Moon<\/p>\n<p>OK.\u00a0 Today is a new day.\u00a0 I do not plan to torture my computers anymore today in regard to my legacy laserjet printer.\u00a0 It has been a faithful companion throughout the last 19\u00a0 years and I do not plan to give up on it yet.\u00a0 Even so, I&#8217;ve experienced my tolerance level of geek futility since I tried to convert it from parallel processing to usb, so it will rest on the sidelines for a while as I install the new multi-function printer later in the day.\u00a0 If I can find a new laserjet printer for under $300 I may just get one with a native usb connection.\u00a0 Not sure I&#8217;d do with old faithful.\u00a0 I might bring it in here (the study) and see if I can convince it to mate up with the Gateway in here.\u00a0 I might give it to somebody with a parallel printer port.<\/p>\n<p>I know, too, that losing colonies is still common for beekeepers and that my experience is not unusual.\u00a0 In fact, as I said a bit earlier, I was not surprised by the deaths of two of the colonies.
